Admitted Law Agent, Auctioneer, Liquidator of Estates. This Free State family suffered as a result of the British concentration camp policy in the Anglo-Boer war of 1900. His wife and the four youngest of their seven children died in the camp. Johann was in the Boer forces and when the war was over claimed compensation for the loss of his farm and livestock. He died not long after.
